Reason # 10 Why I hate the Media: Obama Advertisment

Reason #10 I hate the media is because of all the advertising for President Obama's re-election campaign. During at least one of the ad breaks, there is a commercial for the President's Campaign. Meanwhile, how many ads have ABC, CBS, and NBC shown for Mitt Romney? Clearly not as much. Furthermore, ads for state propositions are on the side of the liberals.

Coming Soon! The Top 10 Reasons I hate the Media

Over the next few days, I will be posting a series called "The Top 10 Reasons I Hate the Media". This series exposes how the media favors the liberals, while they try to make the Conservatives look as bad as they can.  Many of My 10 reasons will be certain news stories where it it quite clear that the press is on the Democrat's side.

My walk down Scenic Road

Yesterday Several months ago, when some of us were taking music lessons in Carmel, I took a walk along Scenic Road, which goes along the beach. I actually did the same thing last week, when the sun was out, but I forgot my camera. So yesterday, I managed to get some pictures of the scenery.

About half-a-mile down the road, you can already see where the beach ends in the distance.

I have now approached the end of the beach. The sidewalk ends just ahead.

About a mile-and-a-half down the road, I could see the entire coastline I had walked along so far.

Interesting rock formations along the coastline as the area becomes more remote.

Pebble Beach is visible in the distance.

Further down the road, Point Lobos can be seen across the bay.

A better view.

I have now arrived at Carmel River Beach. Beautiful site on a more sunny day. Oh well.

An even better view of Point Lobos!

A view of Carmel River.

Erosion in the parking lot, which is closed, along with the restrooms, in order to prevent further erosion.

At this point, I am no longer on Scenic Road. The road became Carmelo Street at the closed parking lot mentioned above. The picture above is of Carmel River Lagoon.

Now, I walked for another (at least) TWO miles through many residential neighborhoods in order to meet up with the rest of my group.

Prayers for pregnant mother

Yesterday I was overjoyed to hear that some of our close friends are expecting their eighth child this October. Please pray for his/her family, and especially for their unborn child that he/she may be born safely, and that God may grant this child many blessed years.

Our Lady of Guadalupe, patroness of the unborn, ora pro eis.

Time for another addition to the "Who Broke It series". This is from the scene in "Up" where the three planes flown by the dogs crash.

'Never Give Up': Heartbreak as Brave 12-year-old Cancer Blogger Loses Battle to Brain Tumor

I found this on Philip Johnson's blog. Please keep the soul of this young girl and her family in your prayers.

Just days before Jessica Joy Rees lost her heartbreaking battle with brain tumors, her parents wrote on their blog about how they were excited for a great 2012.

They were confident that the 12-year-old girl would reach her goal of making 50,000 of her 'Joy Jars' which were filled with candy and toys for sick children. They were exploring other medical treatments in Europe and out of reach of the FDA. They continued to pray and encouraged others to do the same.
Unfortunately, their prayers were answered differently than they hoped. 'We have prayed and prayed and prayed for sweet Jessie to be healed here on earth but God's plan was to use heaven for healing,' they wrote on Facebook when Jessie died on Thursday....

The Orange County seventh-grader, called 'Jessie' by family and friends, began her blog and Facebook page after being diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor in March [2011]. A second tumor was discovered in September. While some of her posts discussed her struggles as she underwent radiation and chemotherapy treatments, others urged readers in dozens of countries to support pediatric cancer research and to pray for other children with the illness. She always signed her posts with the acronym 'NEGU', short for 'never ever give up.'

Also, she and her parents started The NEGU Foundation, a nonprofit organization to raise awareness of pediatric cancer, support sufferers and raise money for research. The foundation sold and provided thousands of 'JoyJars' stuffed with candy and toys to sick children. More than 3,000 were sold and distributed in 27 states last year, according to the NEGU website.

Jessica wrote on Facebook that her mission was 'to encourage kids fighting cancer to Never Ever Give Up by spreading hope, joy and love. A cheerful heart is great medicine.' After a particularly hard day in November, Jessica took to her website, jessicajoyrees.com, to admonish her pain and focus on her love for all that she did still have in her life.
'I love spreading joy to kids with our JoyJars. I love reading all of the posts on Facebook. I love having so many people praying for me. I love that people are supporting NEGU and allowing us to help kids. I love my family and all of my new friends,' the 12-year-old wrote.

Her funeral was held last Wednesday in her local town, where her father is a pastor. Let's keep her soul and her family in our prayers!

Bizarre Rockford abortion facility to close permanently

January 13, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) – After years of protests and prayer vigils, pro-life activists in Rockford, Illinois can finally breathe a sigh of relief – the notoriously bizarre Northern Illinois Women’s Center (NIWC) has announced that it will close permanently.
“The staff is very saddened by the closing,” said the owners of the facility in a statement released this morning to the Rockford Register Star. “We are not done grieving this loss and still are struggling with surrendering to the idea that we will not be able to do this work tomorrow or the day after.”

The statement comes on the heels of news that the facility was prepared to reopen its doors after it reached a settlement with state health officials earlier this month, after being shut down late last year for health violations.
However, the Register Star reports that the director of NIWC said that the decision to shut down permanently was due to “a lack of support from the community, the political climate surrounding the abortion issue both locally and nationally and the challenge the clinic would face in rebuilding staff,” in the words of the Register Star reporter.
“We thank God that Rockford’s long nightmare is over,” pro-lifer Kevin Rilott, who has led pro-life vigils outside the NIWC for years, told LifeSiteNews.com. “This abortion mill killed tens of thousands of babies and wounded countless women.  Their closing is a gift from God.”
NIWC has long been the scene of ongoing protests from pro-life activists. The facility achieved national notoriety in the pro-life community for its personalized, taunting messages and mocking signage, including hanged and crucified rubber chickens in the windows. The owner of the facility has been known to mock pro-lifers while dressed in a devil costume, or even to emerge from the facility wielding a running chainsaw to drown out pro-lifers.
Rilott said that he believes that, in part, the shutting down of the facility can be blamed upon such actions on the part of its staff.
“The idiotic signs that Wayne Webster posted in the clinic windows exposed to full public view the lies of abortion and hidden evil that motivate the murder of babies,” he said in a post on the Pro-Life Corner website.
However, he said that ultimately the credit should be given to two people: “Jesus Christ and the many people who prayed and worked in countless ways for years for an end to the killing in the NIWC.”
